The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the detailed notification for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026 (SSC CHSL 2026) to recruit approximately 2,536 vacancies across various Ministries, Departments, and Constitutional Bodies of the Government of India.
Eligible candidates who have completed Class 12th (Intermediate) can submit their online applications through the official SSC portal before the closing deadline.

Educational Qualification
- For DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ (in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture, etc.): 12th Standard pass in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
- For LDC / JSA and all other DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ Posts: 12th Standard pass or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
Age Limit
- Age Range: 18 to 27 Years (Candidates born between August 02, 1999, and August 01, 2008)
- Upper Age Relaxation:
- SC / ST: 5 Years (Up to 32 Years)
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years (Up to 30 Years)
- PwBD (Unreserved): 10 Years | PwBD (OBC): 13 Years | PwBD (SC/ST): 15 Years
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 Years after deduction of military service rendered from actual age

Selection Process
- The selection pattern consists of multi-tier computerized evaluations:
- Tier-I Examination (Objective Computer-Based Test):
- 100 Questions / 200 Marks (60-minute duration): English Basic Knowledge (25 Qs / 50 Marks), General Intelligence (25 Qs / 50 Marks), Quantitative Aptitude (25 Qs / 50 Marks), and General Awareness (25 Qs / 50 Marks).
- Negative Marking: 0.50 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
- Tier-II Examination (Objective CBT + Skill/Typing Test):
- Session I (2 Hours 15 Mins):
- Section-I: Mathematical Abilities (30 Qs) + Reasoning & General Intelligence (30 Qs) = 60 Qs (180 Marks)
- Section-II: English Language & Comprehension (40 Qs) + General Awareness (20 Qs) = 60 Qs (180 Marks)
- Section-III (Module-I): Computer Knowledge Module (15 Qs / 45 Marks – Qualifying nature)
- Session II (Part A / B / C):
- Module-II: Skill Test for DEO / Typing Test for LDC & JSA (Qualifying nature).
Document Verification (DV): Conducted directly by the user departments/ministries after final nomination.

How to Apply
- Visit the new official SSC portal at ssc.gov.in (or download the official “my SSC” app).
- Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) module if you haven’t already registered on the new portal (old website OTR credentials are not valid).
- Log in using your OTR Registration Number and Password.
- Go to Live Examinations and select “Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026”.
- Fill in required application details, exam center preferences, and qualification records.
- Capture a live passport-style photograph via the webcam/app module and upload a clear scanned signature as per the dimensions prescribed.
- Pay the examination fee of Rs. 100/- online (if applicable).
- Preview all filled details, submit the application, and save/print a copy of the final confirmation form for your records.
