Educational & Technical Qualification
- Must possess a technical certificate in the respective trade from any recognized Technical Institution or ITI.
- OR must have passed the VIII Standard (8th Pass) with at least one year of certified practical experience in the respective technical trade.
Age Limit (As of January 01, 2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 30 Years
- Note: Upper age relaxation applies for reserved categories (5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC) and Ex-Servicemen as per standard Central Government guidelines.
Salary & Pay Scale
- Selected candidates will be placed on a regular pay matrix of Rs. 19,900/- to Rs. 63,200/- (Level 2 in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC), plus other admissible central government allowances.

Selection Process
The selection layout will be purely practical and merit-based:
- Initial scrutiny and shortlisting of received offline applications.
- Competitive Trade Test: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to appear for a practical trade test based on the syllabus of their specific technical field.
- Final Document Verification and Medical Fitness Check.
How to Apply
- Visit the official India Post website or download the prescribed application format from the recruitment notice section.
- Print out the clean application form layout and fill in all your mandatory details (Name, Trade, Address, Qualification, etc.) using a blue or black pen.
- Attach self-attested photocopies of critical certificates, including proof of age, 8th or 10th standard mark sheet, ITI technical certificates, and category/caste documents.
- If applying for more than one trade, candidates must send separate applications in separate envelopes.
- Place the form and documents inside an envelope and securely seal it.
- Superscribe the envelope front cover with “Application for the post of Skilled Artisan in trade ________”.
