South Eastern Railway (SER) has released a recruitment notification for Various vacancies. The recruitment includes Group C Level-4/Level-5, Group C Level-2/Level-3, and Group D Level-1 posts. Eligible sportspersons who have represented their state, country or participated in recognised sports competitions can apply online.

Educational Qualification
The required educational qualification depends on the post level:
- Group C Level-4/Level-5: University degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
- Group C Level-2/Level-3: Class 12 pass or equivalent. Certain specified alternatives include Matriculation with ITI, Course Completed Act Apprenticeship or National Apprenticeship Certificate, as applicable.
- Group D Level-1: Class 10 pass, ITI or equivalent qualification, or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
- Candidates must also fulfil the prescribed sports achievement standards for their chosen discipline and category. Sports achievements must have been obtained on or after 1 April 2024.
Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum age is 25 years as on 1 January 2027. The notification does not provide age relaxation beyond the prescribed limit.
Salary Details
The posts carry pay under the applicable 7th CPC pay levels. The corresponding pay structure is:
- Level-4/Level-5: Grade Pay equivalent of ₹2,400/₹2,800 under the earlier pay structure.
- Level-2/Level-3: Grade Pay equivalent of ₹1,900/₹2,000.
- Level-1: Grade Pay equivalent of ₹1,800.
The actual pay will be governed by the applicable pay matrix and railway rules.
Application Fee
- General and OBC candidates: ₹500
- SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities, Women, Minorities and Economically Backward Classes: ₹250

Selection Process
The selection process consists of sports trials, followed by verification of sports and educational certificates. Candidates will be assessed out of 100 marks:
- Sports achievements: 50 marks
- Sports trial performance, fitness and coach’s observation: 40 marks
- Educational qualification: 10 marks
- The minimum qualifying marks are 70 for Level-4/5, 65 for Level-2/3 and 60 for Level-1. Candidates must also satisfy the prescribed medical fitness standards.
