The Subordinate Services Selection Commission (SSSC) has released a recruitment notification for 1,308 vacancies under Advertisement No. 18-Exam/2026. The recruitment is being conducted through the Veterinary Pharmacist Main Examination (PET-2025)/18.

Horizontal reservation provisions will also apply to eligible categories as per the applicable recruitment rules.
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the Veterinary Pharmacist post must fulfil the prescribed educational requirements.
Applicants should have:
- Passed High School and Intermediate with Biology from the prescribed board or an equivalent examination recognized by the government.
- Possess a 2-year, 3-month Diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy from a recognized university or institution established by law in India.
- Possess the required knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script.
- Candidates must possess the required qualifications by the last date of application.
- The notification also provides for the relevant professional registration requirements. At present, registration with a Veterinary Pharmacy Council is not required where such a council does not exist under the applicable rules.
Preferential Qualification
Candidates having any of the following may receive preference, subject to the applicable recruitment rules:
- Minimum 2 years of service in the Territorial Army, or
- NCC ‘B’ Certificate
Preferential qualification does not replace the essential educational eligibility requirements.
Age Limit
The prescribed age limit is:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 40 Years
- The age will be calculated according to the prescribed recruitment rules, with 1 July of the relevant vacancy year being the age reckoning date.
Age relaxation will be available to eligible reserved-category candidates and other applicable categories according to the government rules.
Salary
- Selected candidates will be placed under Pay Level-5.
- Pay Scale: ₹29,200–₹92,300 per month
The applicable allowances and service conditions will be governed by the relevant recruitment rules.

Candidates are required to pay the prescribed online processing fee.

The amount at this stage is an online processing fee of ₹25. Candidates shortlisted for the Main Examination will have to pay the prescribed Main Examination fee separately at the applicable stage.
Selection Process
The selection process is based on the candidate’s PET-2025 score followed by the Main Written Examination.
1. PET-2025 Based Shortlisting
Candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and fulfil the required conditions will be considered for shortlisting.
Shortlisting for the Main Examination will be carried out on the basis of the normalized PET-2025 score. Candidates may be shortlisted category-wise up to approximately 15 times the number of advertised vacancies, including candidates having scores equal to the final cut-off.
2. Main Written Examination
Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the Veterinary Pharmacist Main Examination.
The examination will contain 100 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks and will be conducted for 2 hours.
The paper will cover:
Veterinary Pharmacist/Subject-related Knowledge – 65 Marks
Computer & Information Technology – 15 Marks
General Information related to the prescribed subject area – 20 Marks
